On March 18th, Swedish director Ruben Östlund (photo) will begin the shooting of his fourth feature film Tourist with three weeks of filming in France, in the Alps (more precisely in the resort of Les Arcs).

After The Guitar Mongoloid (2004), Involuntary (selected in 2008 for Un Certain Regard in Cannes) and Play [film focus] (unveiled in the Directors' Fortnight in 2011), Ruben Östlund will this time tell the tale of the mishaps of a Swedish family on a skiing holiday in France and the consequences of the cowardly behaviour of a father who panics during an avalanche.

Produced by the Swedish company Plattform Produktion, Tourist is co-produced by France (Société Parisienne de Production and Rhône-Alpes Cinéma) and Denmark. The Parisian company Coproduction Office will take care of international sales.
