A workshop titled “Distribution of European Films: A Dangerous Hobby or Sustainable Business Model” will take place at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival on July 1, organized by the European Parliament’s LUX Prize, Europa Distribution and KVIFF.

"The partnership with the European Parliament is extremely important as we can show to our network of distributors that the European Institutions are fighting to sustain the wider circulation of European film in the continent," said Adeline Monzier, head of Europa Distribution.

The workshop will tackle questions such as sustainability of European, especially art-house films, the audience potential and its growth, if a master business plan and cultural diversity are synergic or mutually exclusive, if the LUX Prize and LUX Film Days go in the right direction, and if it is time to speak about film education.

The workshop will feature a panel of distributors and sales agents, moderated by Jakub Duszynski (photo), Co-President of Europa Distribution and member of the LUX Prize Selection Panel. The opening speech will be given by Oldrich Vlasak, Vice-President of the European Parliament.
