At Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, the announcement of 2014 LUX Prize Official Selection

The 2014 LUX Prize is just around the corner, and the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (KVIFF) is the event chosen by the LUX Prize and the European Parliament to present the ten films of the new edition. After very positive outcomes in past years, the festival has been confirmed as the most important partner for this announcement, as it ‘s a key event where the selected films are often in the Festival programme.

The unveiling of the ten films in the Official Selection 2014 is scheduled for 6 July, and is to be presented by former chair of the CULT Committee and LUX Prize coordinator Doris Pack together with MEP Olga Sehnalova.

This year, for the first time, the Public Mention will be announced at the Czech festival, to close the 2013 edition of the LUX Prize, by a European citizen selected at random from among those who voted for their favourite film online.

The role of the LUX Prize in the festival will also include a workshop on Cinema and Cultural Diversity, and another on the Distribution of European Films, organised alongside KVIFF’s Industry Office and Europa Distribution.

Meet us there!
