Crulic at the Anima Film Festival

Crulic at the Anima Film Festival

The Polish and Romanian film Crulic, one of the ten films of the 2012 LUX Prize Selection, is in the international competition of the 2013 Anima Film Festival in Brussels.

Anca Damian's Crulic is the story of a 33-year-old Romanian who explains beyond the grave how he died in a Polish prison while on a hunger strike. This film depicts men's absurdity in a tragic story but still with bitterness and derision.

Crulic was made with cut-out papers, drawings and photographies that remind of the great dada and surrealist artists. The animated film meets with quite a success since its debuts as a result of its humour noir which is significant of the new Romanian cinema.

The International Animated Film Festival will take place from February 8th to 17th at Flagey in Brussels (official website).
