The Committee on Culture and Education of the European Parliament approved the LUX Prize Selection Panel for 2011

The Committee on Culture and Education of the European Parliament approved the LUX Prize Selection Panel for 2011.
End of January, Mrs Doris Pack, Chairwoman of the Committee, submitted a list of European cinema professionals who will have the task to propose, watch and select the films for the forthcoming Official Selection and Competition of the LUX Prize 2011.
 
Beside the confirmed members, five new members have joined the Selection Panel:
- Mrs Feo ALADAG, Writer, director and producer of the 2010 LUX Prize winner Die Fremde;
- Mr Jose Luis CIENFUEGOS, Director of the Gijon Film Festival;
- Mr Christophe LEPARC, Secretary-General of the Directors'Fortnight at the Cannes International Film Festival;
- Mr Per ERICSSON, Responsible for Education and Teaching at the Swedish Institute;
- Mrs Eva ZAORALOVA, Film critics and Artistic Consultant at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.
 
The meeting are held in Brussels, on the premises of the European Parliament, on 24 March, 14 April and 1 June. The Selection Panel will discuss on and select the ten films which will be part of the Official Selection, and among these ten, the three films of the Competition.
